Shakespeare…This Shit Writes Itself from Headline Shirts

I like to imagine Shakespeare as the cocky bastard portrayed in this shirt. You can’t help but laugh at some flowery language using, cocky dude wearing that collar and rocking that hair. I also like that Headline Shirts mildly compare Shakespeare to Snoop Dogg in their usual hilarious product description, which I will now quote because it deserves everyone’s literary attention:

William Shakespeare’s Lost Sonnet

O! how much more doth beauty beauteous seem
By that sweet ornament which truth doth give.
The rose looks fair, but fairer we it deem
For that sweet odour, which doth in it live.
The canker blooms have full as deep a dye…

Hang on, cut the music for a second. Hi, reader, it’s Will Shakespeare here. You know, I don’t meant to come off as cocky, but this shit basically writes itself. I honestly don’t know what the big deal is. Do you know that I invented almost 2,000 words on my own? So I’m literally just making up words as I go. You know who else made up words on the fly? Snoop Dogg. You think history will remember him as a literary genius?

Yup, I make up a bunch of schmancy words for linguists to guffaw over, toss in a few “haths” and “doths” for the drama majors, and — BAM! — instant classic every time. Seriously, there have been entire college courses taught about stuff I basically wrote on the crapper. Tellin’ you, this shit writes itself.

I dig it. You can pick it up on sale right now for $15.00 at Headline Shirts. It’s down from the usual price of $19.00 because it’s theirĀ  newest release, and it’s printed on a 100% cotton 30/1 blank.

  • For a shirt that took all of five minutes to design, it’s pretty funny.

  • Thanks for the great writeup! Love the love. One small factual thing: shirts are actually our own blank so not American Apparel, however it is American fabric, and is similar 30/1 fabric weight. Slim fit but a bit better in our view. Let us know what you think of our tees!

    Cheers!

  • BTW, just saw the other comment. Funny story: one of the best selling t-shirt in the history of Urban Outfitters was designed by a friend of mine, and he told me once that he did it in 5 minutes and tried to leave it out of the catalog because he wasn’t sure about it. So I guess the moral is time to design is not necessarily equal to quality of design. Sometime lightning strikes, and sometimes one might spend forever and end up with a dud. Hard to know.

    Cheers!

  • Ahh my bad. I fixed the blank data–I was going off memory. I’ve got your Wikipedia shirt (which I love), and I think that’s on AA.
