Historical Figures on Tour at ThenWear

I couldn’t really think of a title for this post just because the t-shirts at ThenWear are so out there (a good thing). All of the t-shirts (in the section I’m linking to) depict popular historical figures as if they were on a musical tour. You’ve got Galileo’s “Don’t tell the pope” Heresy Tour, Attila’s Huns in the Sun Tour, and many other funny tour shirts. I like them very much. I’ve posted a picture of two of my favorites, but you should certainly check ‘em all out.
ThenWear is newly launched (on the 5th I believe), so I’m betting they will be adding even more to their collection. Additionally, they do more than just the tour shirt, so you should check out of the rest of their funny, and sometimes ridiculous, “historical” t-shirt line. The shirts will run you ~$25 from what I’m seeing. Now go check out their store. You can get free shipping by using the code “2011StandardFree“.
Cat from Mars T-Shirt from Digital Gravel

I’m stopping by for a quick post to inject some goofy randomness into your life. Let’s be honest, what’s more ridiculous than a cat dressed up as Spike Lee (essentially)? This cat has to rank pretty damn high on the goof scale. Anyway, I chuckled when I saw this shirt because of how random it is, and maybe you’ll like it too. I think the “CATS” bling is what put it over the edge.
You can pick up this Upper Playground designed t-shirt for $24.00 at Digital Gravel. Enjoy!

I was browsing around Sub Pop earlier today amassing an overflowing cart of awesome vinyl albums, when I came across this gem of a t-shirt. It’s got one of those wacky characters that I love so much. I also am a fan of the “down for life” slogan. I dunno, I just like it. This shirt was originally released at the Pitchfork Festival. Now, I may have a simmering dislike (I didn’t say hatred!) for Pitchfork, but that doesn’t mean I can’t dig this shirt. Plus, I love Sub Pop, and that’s the actual name on the t-shirt. I love them not only because their awesome lineup of bands, but because they still churn out really cool vinyl releases.
You can grab this design for $18.00 at the Sub Pop store. It’s printed on a white American Apparel 50/50 blend t-shirt. The designer is Ryan Duggan, from Chicago. I’m gonna try to find some more of his stuff–I’m hoping he designs t-shirts fairly regularly.
The Walkmen T-Shirt from Insound, Delicious Design Project #2

I recently posted about that awesome Best Coast t-shirt which came from Insound and Delicious Design’s collaboration project. That shirt was the first release from the duo of companies. Today, they’ve come back with a second release from another awesome band: The Walkmen. The Walkmen are a great band who I really enjoy. Funny story–I actually saw The Walkmen live twice at SXSW and XPN Festival before I ever actually listened to them. They put on a great show, and all their songs are quality. This, In the New Year, is probably my favorite song from them if you want a starting point.
As for the t-shirt design itself, I also dig that. It’s just got that simple yet creative flair that I enjoyed so much in the Best Coast shirt. I’m definitely adding this to my already overflowing (with vinyl) Insound cart. As with all the t-shirts from their collaboration, they’re printed in limited edition runs–so once they’re gone, they’re gone for good. Don’t dawdle! You can pick up the design for $19.99 at Insound. We’ve also got an Insound coupon code, which is currently active and good for 10% off your entire order. The shirt is printed on American Apparel. Oh yeah, be sure to check out The Walkmen as well.
Retold with Unicorns T-Shirt from Threadless + Unicef Donations

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted an actual t-shirt from Threadless, but this one was just so quirkily hilarious that I had to post it. This shirt, entitled Retold with Unicorns, quite obviously features two unicorns fighting out the Star Wars storyline with horn-lightsabers. I am unsure where the inspiration for this t-shirt came from, but I will say that I am glad RicoMambo and Threadless were able to get this printed. It’s just straight up ridiculous (in a good way). Also, if you look at the design in detail, the Darth Vader styling on the black unicorn is hilarious.
If you also find this shirt oddly enticing, you can pick it up for only $15.00 from Threadless. We’ve also got a Threadless coupon page, although I don’t think any of them are active at the time of this posting. Furthermore, Threadless is currently running a promotion where, if you rate 100 designs, they will donate $1.00 to Unicef. So basically, you can go check out awesome, potential Threadless designs, and also help out people in need. That’s a winning combination right there. Go score some designs–100 doesn’t really take that long at all.

Insound, a popular purveyor of vinyl and music t-shirts whom I love, is offering 20% off their exclusive line of band shirts. I’ve posted about this line before, and the shirts really are quite cool. The designs are all unique to Insound and feature a bunch of bands across genres, both popular and indie. A few examples are The Decemberists, Girls, Beach House, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, and a bunch more. As the post title hints at, Insound is offering 20% off this entire line of shirts. I highly recommend you check them out, because the shirts are awesome and the prices are good (especially with the sale). We’ve also got an Insound promo code which will give you 10% off your entire order. The coupon is good until 5/20/11.
With the sale price, the shirts are only $16.00 each ($14.40 with our coupon). Go check them out at the Insound store. Hell, pick up some vinyl while you’re there too.
