Threadless has just released an absolutely brilliant t-shirt in their recent batch of tees. It’s a combination of Gandalf from Lord of the Rings, and the Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Neither are fans of letting people pass, so, were they to ever meet, it would result in an impasse, much like this shirt depicts. Kudos to Verso for thinking up this awesome design. It combines two great movies, and is also absolutely hilarious. It’s just a great design.

I was surprised to see Busted Tees come out with a t-shirt referencing the Wes Anderson movie, The Life Aquatic. Usually Busted Tees sticks to “t-shirt’izing” more popular movies (“t-shirt’izing”: Verb: To transform a concept or story into a t-shirt). I’m glad they decided to branch out though, as I love The Life Aquatic. It’s a great flick. Heck, I like it so much that I already own an awesome Zissou t-shirt from Waterloo.

The Belafonte is the research ship of Steve Zissou (played by Bill Murray). If you haven’t seen the movie, you probably think this t-shirt sucks. If you have, I think this shirt is a cool reference to the movie. I love how they diagrammed the entire ship out like the movie–good stuff.

I was always a Star Wars kid growing up, and I never really enjoyed Star Trek all that much. Therefore, I very much like this t-shirt from 604 Republic. I’ve known about Threadless’ print collaboration with Society6 for a while, but I had never delved deeper into the Society 6 website until today. When I did, I was pleasantly surprised by the sheer number of awesome t-shirt designs they had. I saw a bunch of designs that I loved on just the few pages I sifted through. I only chose one t-shirt today, but I’ll show off the rest of my favorites in due time.

This Darth Vader t-shirt, aptly entitled “Dark Lord”, is designed by Liam Brazier, and is flippin’ awesome. I love the geometric feel (there’s probably an official name for that, but I don’t know it…). It just looks damn cool. Plus, it’s Darth Vader…’nuff said. Black and red were the perfect colors to use, so props there, too. I just overall dig this design, and I’m debating buying it in print form to hang on my wall.

The t-shirt will cost you $22.00 at the Society6 Store. It’s printed on an American Apparel 100% cotton tee. You will definitely be seeing more Society6 stuff in the future.

Maybe you haven’t heard (in that cave you’ve been living in), but the final Harry Potter movie comes out this weekend. It’s the end of my childhood. I was pretty much the perfect age to grow up with the Harry Potter books; and grow up I did. They will always hold a dear place in my heart just because of that connection: Harry grew up while I grew up. I’m going to try and put a bunch of shirts together for the movie release, but until then I thought I would post this bad boy from Tee Fury. It’s just a little goofy shoutout to Harry Potter. If you miss the joke: the shirt looks very much like one of those generic Abercrombie/Old Navy athletic shirts, but it’s Harry Potter.

I’ve posted a few other Big Lebowski t-shirts because I love the movie. I’m now happy to add this one to that list, because it is quite, quite funny. If you’re familiar with the movie, you know that one of the most well-known/repeated phrases is “The Dude Abides“. Therefore, it is quite possible that were The Dude to tweet, he would end many of them with the hashtag #Abiding. That is why this shirt is funny. So…I just saw Hangover 2 last night. I thought it was pretty dang funny, especially the first half. I don’t think it’s quite as good as the first one–but still, very funny. I appreciate how they were brash and unabashed about the sequel following the exact same format as the first Hangover. This early acceptance allowed me to just sit back and enjoy the show. It’s the same formula, but it’s a good formula, and it’s funny, so I’m a fan.

When watching the movie, my friends and I immediately laughed when we saw Allen’s (Zach Galifianakis’) t-shirt. You can imagine how happy I was to get home, check my email, and see that someone was already selling Allen’s t-shirt. It’s just a ridiculous shirt, especially when worn by Zach (see above). These are one of my favorite type of movie shirts–shirts that aren’t just a logo, but rather come directly from the movie.

To sum up–The Hangover 2 was funny. Allen’s shirt from the Hangover 2 was also funny. This, entitled Yellow Lab, is that shirt. You can pick this shirt up for $18.99 at Crazy Dog T-Shirts.
