This post is not intended to be political (not even in the slightest). Rather, I wanted to share this design because I love horrible puns, and this t-shirt made me laugh pretty hard (I know it’s a ridiculous pun–that’s what makes it funny!). I just find the juxtaposition of Black Walnut (Herman Cain) with a Scorpions song pretty funny. So yeah, excuse the horrible pun, but it made me laugh, and maybe it will do the same for you.

I want to buy this t-shirt mainly for the almost guaranteed huge number of double-takes it would generate. The t-shirt looks very much like the iconic Che Guevara t-shirt, until you notice that powerful ‘stache. Then you’re like, “Tom Selleck, WTF mate?” Hilarity ensues. I think this t-shirt is based on a TV show (Rocko’s Modern Life maybe?). I’ve never seen that show though, so I don’t really care about the connection. I just think it’s a pretty funny take on the huge power that corporations exert in the modern world. Blood is the New Black has some crazy t-shirts–this being one of them. Still, I find myself oddly attracted to it. It’s definitely an interesting statement on fur and what it means. You wouldn’t get red paint thrown on you, but you could probably start some interesting conversations. So…I never thought I would do this, but I’m about to post a shirt from the often maligned T-Shirt Hell. I like some of their Torsopants designs (which I’ve posted about before), but this is the first, and odds are, the last, design I have ever posted from the main T-Shirt Hell line. All that negative stuff being said…I really like this shirt. The three people depicted, Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin, and Glenn Beck, are stooges, and I’ll leave it at that because I don’t want to get too political. The shirt is just legitimately funny.

Also, Glenn Beck insulted Philadelphia with some completely ridiculous statements, so I gotta get my jab back. In case you’re not familiar with Philadelphia, the City Hall area is incredibly safe, and I’ve frequently walked around the area after 10pm. Glenn was just angry that Philadelphia didn’t want to listen to his radio show anymore.

So…this shirt is amazing. If you don’t know, this is based on a (famous?) picture of Nixon and Elvis shaking hands (see the original below), only with Nixon replaced with Darth Vader. Obviously, given how Nixon’s presidency turned out, the substitution is pretty hilarious. I like that it works on two levels–first, it’s funny for people who don’t know the original picture because it’s, well, Elvis and Darth Vader shaking hands. But for those who do know the picture, it’s even more humorous, as well as pretty dang political (if you want it to be).

I think this is one of my favorite Headline Shirts designs (and I like a lot of their shirts, so that actually means something). So I finally finished the last of my five finals earlier today–it feels good to get that load off my back. I figured I’d celebrate by posting a shirt from one of my favorite brands, Print Liberation.

This one is called Save the World, and is quite witty in my opinion. It’s a goofily personified earth vomiting out green sludge, presumably created by humans. I think the message is valid, and more important for you aesthetic minded people, it’s funny, eye-catching, and just looks good.

This shirt made me chuckle, but also instilled a bit of fear in me due to the large size of Cheney’s mug on the front of the shirt. It’s good life advice though–just don’t be a dick. People tend to not like you if you shoot them in the face with a shotgun, or are a crooked old politician (or just a dick in general).

Print Liberation is at it again (it being making cool shirts). The design isn’t complex at all, it’s just simple elements combined excellently to make a quality shirt.

I also like it because it’s not super in your face, as some “green” shirts can be. It’s a good design first, and a political message second (at least in my interpretation).

So I was a little late to the game on this one. But…I guess the benefit of the oil still leaking is that this shirt is still relevant even if I’m 30+ (I couldn’t find the exact start date) late.
