Bold as Love, A Homage to Jimi Hendrix, T-Shirt from Zamforia

Zamforia is a t-shirt/clothing company from the Boston area (Quincy, MA to be exact). They started out designing t-shirts that expressed “love” in different languages. They have since expanded a bit, with one of those expansions being this and a couple other band/music t-shirts. It’s a combination of their “love” theme with a tribute to Jimi Hendrix. I think the design looks great. There’s a lot going on, but it all pulls together well. The back of the shirt shows the sheet music to Hendrix’s “Bold as Love”, while the front has a ton of awesome stuff going on (go to the site to see it in greater detail). There’s also a tiny Michael Jackson hidden at the bottom.
Like Hendrix, I think this t-shirt rules. Check out all the product pictures while listening to Bold as Love. You can’t go wrong. The shirt will cost you $30 at Zamforia.
The Belafonte: Life Aquatic T-Shirt from Busted Tees

I was surprised to see Busted Tees come out with a t-shirt referencing the Wes Anderson movie, The Life Aquatic. Usually Busted Tees sticks to “t-shirt’izing” more popular movies (“t-shirt’izing”: Verb: To transform a concept or story into a t-shirt). I’m glad they decided to branch out though, as I love The Life Aquatic. It’s a great flick. Heck, I like it so much that I already own an awesome Zissou t-shirt from Waterloo.
The Belafonte is the research ship of Steve Zissou (played by Bill Murray). If you haven’t seen the movie, you probably think this t-shirt sucks. If you have, I think this shirt is a cool reference to the movie. I love how they diagrammed the entire ship out like the movie–good stuff.
This shirt will gently rob your wallet to the tune of $20.00 at Busted Tees (not bad at all). Remember you can always save money with one of my Busted Tees coupons, and check out The Life Aquatic, along with Wes’ other stuff.
Sloth Bones–Funny Goonies T-Shirt from Teefury

This awesome The Goonies inspired t-shirt doesn’t need an explanation (for those who saw the movie), which is good, because I’m quite frankly too tired to give one. All I’m gonna say is that this shirt is pretty cool, and it’s available for $10.00 for 24 hours only at Teefury. Don’t miss out on a chance to add some sweet, cheap, and funny Goonies apparel to your closet.
Hit Squad T-Shirt from Loud Lion

I just got an email about a new t-shirt brand called Loud Lion, run by a soon-to-be husband and wife combo. I dig their designs. They’re very simple an monochromatic, which I definitely like in this situation. It’s more toned down than some of the other tees I post, which I think definitely has its place in any good t-shirt collector’s closet. This is probably my favorite design from their (currently) five design collection. It’s called Hit Squad, and consists of a hot air balloon carrying a tank. Awesome…
You can get it for $23.00 at the Loud Lion shop. It’s printed on an American Apparel 50/50 blank.

This awesome, awesome shirt, called Uncle Reginald, comes from the brand Chuck U. This character, Reginald, is ridiculously goofy and awesome–especially the mustache. I have no idea what else to write (I’ve already used awesome three times!), so I’m just gonna tell you a bit about Chuck U. This shirt is awesome though…
Chuck U is a freelance illustrator from Minneapolis. Chuck’s done tons of illustrations and has been featured in galleries, magazines, and other things of that ilk. He sells both art prints and t-shirts, and his style is awesome (look at that again…). He has shops at both at Storenvy (7 different t-shirts), and Etsy (seems to be mostly prints). Even if you’re not planning to buy his stuff, check out his designs. You can grab this specific shirt, Uncle Reginald, at his Storenvy shop. You can also buy it as a print at Etsy.
Sleep T-Shirt from Dress Royale

Checking in to share a sweet t-shirt from a new brand called Dress Royale. The shirt is an excellent comment on the World’s (especially the US’) fascination with prescription drugs. It seems like almost everything “needs” a prescription drug, side effects included, nowadays. Dress Royale has done an excellent job of illustrating that excess. It helps that the design just looks flat out cool as well.
You can grab the tee, called “Sleep”, for $18.00. It’s printed on American Apparel 50/50 shirts. Not a bad deal at all! Additionally, here’s a cool video that they have showing one of their t-shirts being printed. Check it out:

Hey everyone,
I’m stopping in (to my blog admin) to wish everyone a happy New Years. I hope 2012 is great for you, and I thank you for being a troundup reader. Normal posts will resume tomorrow, but until then, enjoy this simple, yet good looking, t-shirt from Zazzle (I really was just looking for a t-shirt to wish people happy new year, but I do think the text looks pretty cool).
F.R. Trollkien T-Shirt from 20sixfresh

I love this t-shirt from the fairly new brand 20sixfresh. It’s so goofily awesome–all the little details in the design are great. The main guy (the troll?) looks pretty snazzy as well. Lastly, I love that they incorporated the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia quote with the “troll toll”. This is just an overall sweet design–good stuff.
You can grab this design, which I heartily recommend, for $25.o0 at the 20sixfresh store. I’m sure these guys will keep pumping out great designs in the future.
As I mentioned, 20sixfresh is a new brand based out of Billy’s home office in the Pacific Northwest. They currently have four different designs, available in both men’s and women’s sizing.
P.S. Happy New Years everyone! Get crazy, if that’s your thing.
Garage Cotton–Cool T-Shirts for Limited Mid-West Colleges

I realize that the market for these t-shirts is fairly limited, given they’re only for a limited number of colleges, but I thought Stefan and his brother had a really clean and cool design style, AND a bunch of these colleges are in the MAC (Temple’s football conference), so I had to share anyway. So yeah, if you go to Iowa State, Wright State, Kent State, Akron, Youngstown State, Miami (Ohio I’m assuming), Iowa, or any of a number of other schools around that area, you can pick up a pretty snazzy t-shirt sporting your university.
They’ll run you $26 at the Garage Cotton store. Even if I didn’t list your school, be sure to check the designs out, because I didn’t list everything single school they have. If your college is in the mid-west, there’s a good chance you can find your school.
Big Yellow Joint, an Arrested Development T-Shirt from Skreened

I tweeted about this sweet Arrested Development shirt earlier today (I already own it, and I was wearing it today). Now I want to post about it. For fans, you probably remember the Big Yellow Joint jingle. Well…this t-shirt epitomizes all that is the Big Yellow Joint–I love it. I will definitely be wearing this shirt a ton, and I hope I get some comments.
You can grab this design for $26+ at Skreened, whom (who?) I’m coming to love more and more. They have a ton of great designs–cool artists just flock to them or something. Kudos, Skreened.
P.S. I’m gonna do my usual thing where I tell you to watch Arrested Development. Seriously, do it.
P.P.S. Yes, that is me in the awkward self-shot.
