Before I even mention anything about this design, I want to say that I really like the concept behind A Year of Tees. I don’t think I really need to explain it–it’s just a t-shirt a day for an entire year (365 designs). Very cool, and very taxing to continue pumping out quality designs. Yet, the people behind A Year of Tees seem to be up to the challenge–I’m a big fan of most of their designs.
So, let’s move to the featured design from April 4th: 2 Fried Eggs. The design is very simple. It is very much what the title says it is. Yet, I think it comes out quite cool looking. The yellow on white on black is attractive, and I think it gains power from its simplicity. Oh, and, for the immature of us, it kind of looks like boobs (lol!).
Even though it’s nothing complex, I really like this design (and not ’cause of the boobs thing). You can pick up 2 Fried Eggs for $26.00 from A Year of Tees. Check out their other designs as well, because some of them are really cool.
I apologize for the back-to-back posts about t-shirt sales. But…both these sales are great discounts from popular t-shirt companies, so I felt compelled to share them with you.
So yeah, Threadless’ Camp Wannatee Summer Sale just went live earlier today. During the sale, which expires 5/18 (Wednesday), all Threadless shirts are only $12.00. This isn’t quite as good a deal as their $10.00 sales, but it’s dang close. Close enough that I don’t even care. $12.00 Threadless shirts are the best kinds of shirts. That’s all–head over to Threadless to shop the sale. We’ve also got a Threadless coupon, although I think they have disabled all coupons during the sale. It’s worth trying though.
Expect a return to your regularly scheduled non-sale t-shirt blogging soon.
One day before Threadless’ Summer Sale is scheduled to start, Design by Humans has launched their May Sale. During the May Sale, all DBH shirts will be only $15.00. That’s not a bad deal at all. I’m about to make the deal even sweeter though–I will give you 25% off your entire order. Yes, that’s right. Not only do you get the $15 sale price, but I will give you another 25% off to make the price of each shirt only $11.50.
Go to this post to take advantage of my 25% discount offer, or you can just contact me and I’ll give you the details. Otherwise, head over to Design by Humans to shop the sale, and check out Design by Humans coupon for some promo codes.
Today’s shirt is relevant to my day, as I ate a ton of bacon today (which was awesome). This shirt is definitely simple, but, I think that’s a good thing. You don’t need to add anything to bacon to make it cool. Needless to say, I dig this shirt, and “bring the bacon” might just become my motto for the summer.
You can pick this design up in either of the two colors pictured for $17.99 from Olan Rogers’ store. He’s got some other designs which are also cool and worth checking out if you’ve got some time on your hands.
So yesterday’s megatastic implosion of the Lakers was what will, most likely, be Phil Jackson’s last game coaching in the NBA. This is sad, because Phil Jackson is one of the greatest coaches of all time. He truly is the Zen Master. This post and shirt from 80s Purple is a tribute to Phil and all his Eastern philosophy coolness.
P.S. Thanks to my man David Budimir, who has a blog about hip-hop samples, for showing me this shirt.
Community has quickly become one of my favorite TV shows (of both cancelled and active shows), so I had to post this shirt. I actually first saw this shirt on a Community writer in a behind-the-scenes clip, which caused me to instantly look it up. Starburns is a character from the show who has trimmed his sideburns to look like, well, stars. This shirt probably isn’t at all funny if you’re not familiar with the show, but…if you are a fan of the show, I hope you enjoy it. Also, if you’re not already a fan of the show, you should watch a few episodes, get hooked, and become a fan. Then you can enjoy this shirt. Their most recent episode, a paintball spaghetti western, is off the chain hilarious. You probably need to be familiar with the characters to get its full effect, though.
If you wanna pick up this Starburns shirt, you can nab it for $25.00 from the NBC Store. Show ya luv for Community!
Insound, a popular purveyor of vinyl and music t-shirts whom I love, is offering 20% off their exclusive line of band shirts. I’ve posted about this line before, and the shirts really are quite cool. The designs are all unique to Insound and feature a bunch of bands across genres, both popular and indie. A few examples are The Decemberists, Girls, Beach House, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, and a bunch more. As the post title hints at, Insound is offering 20% off this entire line of shirts. I highly recommend you check them out, because the shirts are awesome and the prices are good (especially with the sale). We’ve also got an Insound promo code which will give you 10% off your entire order. The coupon is good until 5/20/11.
With the sale price, the shirts are only $16.00 each ($14.40 with our coupon). Go check them out at the Insound store. Hell, pick up some vinyl while you’re there too.
So, after two straight all-nighters and a generally hellish (school work wise) weekend, I am back and ready to get posting. All I have is a few simple tests left–the research papers are all behind me. I thought I would start my summer with a shirt I’ve been wanting to write about for a long time–The Invisible Man from Miles to Go Clothing. Shirt is just sweet. H.G. Wells is cool and all, but I find myself thinking more about the Three Stooges when I look at this shirt. Whichever connection you make, it’s still pretty cool. I also love that he’s smoking a pipe, ’cause pipes are sweet.
You can buy this shirt for $25.00 at Miles to Go’s store. It’s printed on an American Apparel coffee colored tri-blend tee…so it’s incredibly comfortable. Enjoy, and be ready for a much more regular posting schedule.
Blood is the New Black is really hit or miss for me. I love some of their stuff, and also have no interest in a bunch of other stuff. My feelings toward this shirt are more to the positive side. It’s goofy–a metal band made up of spike wearing bears? Where do I buy my ticket? But seriously, this shirt is super quirky, yet it works for me. I dig it.
You can pick this shirt up for $20.00 at Blood is the New Black, which is a pretty cheap price for them. If you don’t have my strange interests in weird animal shirts, you might hate this design–sorry!
**Also, if you’ve emailed me recently at my troundup email/contact form I may not have gotten it. I forgot to switch the email address over when changing servers, so those emails might have fallen through the crack. Please resend!
In honor of the Lakers beginning the playoffs tomorrow, and entering into their run for a three-peat, I thought I would post up this shirt from 1two. As you can see, the text reads “The Real King Plays in Los Angeles.” This statement is, quite obviously, true, as Kobe is approximately 1.47 times better than Lebron. I’m checking out for the night now, but go Lakers!
You can pick this shirt up from the 1two store. It’ll cost you $27.99 if you want to add it to your closet.
