Go Ape Shirts is at it again; and by “it”, I mean making really awesome t-shirts. Their latest offering, The Plumber’s Empire, delves into the much-loved world of Mario. The design depicts, in humorous and 8-bit stylized fashion, what Mario’s domain might look like on our very own planet Earth. I love both the concept and the execution–well done Go Ape Shirts! It’s also cool to check out where your home would lie on Mario’s map.

You can pick up this design for the fair price of $20.00 at the Go Ape Shirts store. It’s printed on American Apparel. Also, I apologize if this post is not written very good (sic). I know rambling abounds, and a few cliches decided to come along for the ride. I have to be honest, growing up I was totally a Playstation 1 kid (and then XBox, and then no video games), but…that doesn’t mean I can’t dig this new shirt from ReThink Clothing. It’s a simple shirt–just a one color rendering of a Nintendo cartridge. I think it looks great though. It’s kinda nerdy, but not weird nerdy (sorry if that offends! I mean it in the most loving way).

My house has been engaging in quite a bit of Mario related action this semester, whether that be the Mario series itself, or Super Smash Bros. When smashing, Mario is one of my go to characters, as he’s a certified bad-ass. Thus, you can see why I was quite excited when I got an email from Sebastion of 604 Republic about one of their newest releases, Retired Plumber.

The shirt is damn near perfect. The concept, an old and retired Mario, is top-notch, and the execution of the design doesn’t disappoint. He looks just how I would picture Mario to look after spending his younger years gallivanting around jumping shells and smashing bricks. He’s certainly earned all those medals. To finish up my little string of praise, I also like how much his red hat pops out, it reminds me a bit of the red hat in the Life Aquatic shirt I posted awhile ago.

I love this design, and I hope you do too. If you fulfill my hopes, you can go buy it for $18.95 at 604 Republic, who have some more great designs which will be featured soon.

I don’t play a lot of video games anymore (I used to), but one that I will still break out occasionally is Defense of the Ancients (DotA). On a whim yesterday, I decided to see if there were any DotA shirts out there. Unsurprisingly (the game, or I guess mod? has a huge following), I found that there tons out there.
