I just found out about Headline Shirts, and they’ve quickly become one of my favorite new brands. This shirt is awesome, from the font to the crazy kangaroo-eagle-lizard (that’s my interpretation), as well as laugh out loud funny. They’ve also been super nice and hooked me up with a sweet coupon code. If you use the code “TROUNDUP” at checkout, up until next Friday (Feb 6th) you’ll get a free surprise shirt with any purchase. Here are the details regarding the promotion from Jake, the guy who writes their awesome product descriptions (included below):
Users will receive a free “mystery shirt” of the same size with any order. (They should enter the code TROUNDUP on the shopping bag page, just after adding to cart.) They won’t know what they’re getting, except that it will be selected according to the design(s) they purchase.
One important thing to note: Users will actually not receive a notice of the free shirt after entering the coupon code. Instead, it will show up as a “$0.01” discount. But they should rest assured they’ll be getting a free shirt. (This is just the way our coupon system works right now, unfortunately.)
Now here’s that product description I promised. It gave me chuckles:
Some people say Wikipedia can’t be trusted, but I think it’s great for getting general information on a topic. Like, did you know that the Civil War and the War of 1805 were actually separate battles, despite the fact of them occurring in the same century?
I also learned that pornography has been around since the dawn of sex. Speaking of sex, you may be interested to know that Gordon Jump once guest-starred on an episode of Diff’rent Strokes as a pedophile who attempted to molest Arnold and his best friend Dudley (played by the actor Shavar Ross, who has been married since 1992 and has at least two children).
Speaking of the eighties, John Lennon (born Johnathan Chaz Ono Lennon) was shot and later died during the 1980s while wearing his favorite “New York City” t-shirt during one of his last concerts with the Mets at Beatles Stadium. He wrote a comic called “The Daily Howl” as a child.
Speaking of t-shirts, I made myself this Wikipedia t-shirt. Did you know that Kangaroos are actually not born with wings but develop them later in life? Guess where I learned that!
Thanks to Tcritic for letting me know about these guys!
I wrote about Inject Love from Beetnik Aesthetics awhile ago, so long ago that the store wasn’t even open then. I’m happy to announce that today Beetnik Aesthetics has officially opened its doors. In honor of that, all their shirts are 50%, making them $12. Go check it out.
I love the product shot for the above shirt–the ivy makes it look awesome. In general, I always like stores who put real effort into their product shots–it just makes looking at tons of t-shirts a lot cooler. I also like cool sites, and Loren (Beetnik Aesthetics owner) has one of those. Not many people can pull off a dark purple themed site well, so good job on that!
Here’s something different – Beetnik Aesthetics! It all started with a guy named Loren. Loren wanted to build a clothing brand that was more than just a few cool designs thrown on t-shirts. Loren wanted to build a brand with a message – a brand that stood for something. What happened? Beetnik Aesthetics happened. Beetnik Aesthetics is not just another trendy t-shirt company, but a lifestyle clothing brand, built on the notion that the “world is your canvas”, striving for hope, peace, love and more. One idea. One thought. One dream. Anything is possible with a forward thinking mind.
I can’t see myself ever buying or wearing this shirt, but I think it’s certainly an interesting design. It legit looks like someone opening up blinds to peek out at you, which is somewhat disconcerting in my opinion, and probably why I found it interesting. It comes from Altru Apparel, but it’s out of stock there, so I’ve provided the in-stock, and cheaper, Urban Outfitters link.
Myke just informed me that NerdyShirts is getting ready to relaunch their site, which, luckily for all t-shirt buyers out there, means they’ll be trying to clear out their stock this week. Every day they’ll add four new shirts to the clearance list for $4.99 until they sell out. $4.99 is a pretty sweet deal for some great designs. Check it out at NerdyShirts. (shirts above are not necessarily on sale yet, they’re just tees I like)
We are relaunching our site next week and to build up some press we are running an enormous clearance sale this week. Each day we will be adding 4 shirts to the clearance sale, $4.99 a shirt until they are completely sold out never to be printed again!
This one gave me a chuckle–it will probably give you a chuckle too…unless you’re weird (just kidding). Buy it at Lonely Dinosaur.
The Philosoraptor periodically tests the fences of reality, is able to open the doors of perception, and most importantly is guaranteed not make to you look like a giant turkey. All of our shirts are made with 100% Organic ring spun cotton. They are soft, durable, and always in vogue. Satisfaction comes not from the Philosoraptor in front of you, but from the two Philosoraptors you’ve already ordered.
I don’t know if any of you noticed, but Design by Humans has just started printing on a new type of blank, dubbed their “Perfect Tee”. Given my somewhat obsession with comfortable shirts (it’s gotten to the point where I won’t buy a shirt if it’s on something I think is uncomfortable, even if I like the design. But I swear I’m not a snob, I just have a lot of shirts), I wanted to check out what the quality of the shirts was. I ordered two designs, pictured above, and just received them and was able to check out the new shirts.
So what do I think? I think they’re awesome. They’re incredibly soft and fit much better than the previous shirts in my opinion. The sizing is more slim fitting–I wore a small in their old shirts, but now I think I’m bumped up to a medium, although I did just order a small in the new shirt to make sure. They’re also a bit thinner than the old shirts, which I think is a good thing, and a helluva lot softer. Overall, definitely a big step up for Design by Humans, I hope they keep them. Before ordering though, you might want to double check the size charts and see if you should move a size up, because they definitely are slimmer.
Anyone else who’s gotten them want to weigh in?
PS. I try to keep up on any DBH coupons here, although I haven’t found any working ones out there right now.
While there’s a poignant message behind this 57thirtythree shirt that not everyone may agree with, I just think it looks really, really awesome (although I do agree, while I may be guilty of doing nothing). If you want to read the message behind the shirt, I’ve quoted it below for your reading pleasure. If you want to just look at the pretty product pictures, well, you’ve probably already done that because they’re at the top of the post, just scroll up again.
Yo. Just being pissed off about how things are accomplishes nothing. Revolution, change come through ideas, actions, consideration and education. I created this design because I come across plenty of people who bitch and get angry about how things have gotten. Then quickly fall into the “How is anything I do gonna change it?”. A monkey can experience rage, but that Rage will echo briefly and amount to nothing. That’s the story and if you don’t like that story it’s also just a badass design that will make you the envy of your friends…
Uneetee certainly started 2009 with a bang with this awesome Kick Off Design Contest winner. Kind of Flowers in the Attic’esque, but still different and totally sweet. The only thing I need to decide about this design is whether I want it in white or black (…or both?). It’s only $12, despite being printed on American Apparel, which is a great deal. Pick it up in white or black at Uneetee. Also, check out the constantly updated Uneetee coupon–I think right now it will give you 10% off your order.
