I don’t know if any of you noticed, but Design by Humans has just started printing on a new type of blank, dubbed their “Perfect Tee”. Given my somewhat obsession with comfortable shirts (it’s gotten to the point where I won’t buy a shirt if it’s on something I think is uncomfortable, even if I like the design. But I swear I’m not a snob, I just have a lot of shirts), I wanted to check out what the quality of the shirts was. I ordered two designs, pictured above, and just received them and was able to check out the new shirts.

So what do I think? I think they’re awesome. They’re incredibly soft and fit much better than the previous shirts in my opinion. The sizing is more slim fitting–I wore a small in their old shirts, but now I think I’m bumped up to a medium, although I did just order a small in the new shirt to make sure. They’re also a bit thinner than the old shirts, which I think is a good thing, and a helluva lot softer. Overall, definitely a big step up for Design by Humans, I hope they keep them. Before ordering though, you might want to double check the size charts and see if you should move a size up, because they definitely are slimmer.

Anyone else who’s gotten them want to weigh in?

PS. I try to keep up on any DBH coupons here, although I haven’t found any working ones out there right now.

  1. Thank God they’re good! I had a similar post today regarding the PT shirts but, I Haven’t ordered anything yet to make the comparison. I wasn’t a big fan of the old ones so I’m looking forward to these… Awesome!

  2. I wasn’t a fan of the old ones either, but these are insanely comfortable and lightweight.

  3. Hey, I am pretty sure I know which tee it might be. I use the same blanks for my company and they are UNBELIEVABLE shirts. I believe that it is the “Perfect Tee” from Alternative Apparel. I live in Atlanta and I buy all my blanks from them (to support local companies). They are the softest t-shirts I have ever worn, and I have a lot of T-Shirts! They have a vintage style to them, very cool colors and slim fitting. They have their “destroyed tee” that is very similar, but is actually made to look worn and frayed at the sleeves and stuff. I am sure that is the t-shirt, although I have not bought one from DBH yet.

  4. The tag is kind of similar, but the DBH shirt is made in Guatemala, while the Alternative Apparel tee is made in Thailand and feels somewhat different. I’m not sure they’re the same. Both are great shirts though.

  5. Colin, you are probably right then. Like I said, I haven’t purchased one of the new DBH shirts yet, but I am looking forward to getting one to see what the buzz is about. Cool, thanks for pointing that out. I did check the alternative apparel website and the colors of the shirts did not seem to fit with the alternative colors.

  6. You selling shirts printed on the Perfect Tee for only $12 makes me happy though, I might have to pick some up/post about them.

  7. I’m not really a big fan of the shirts previously used by DBH. Glad they switched to the softer “perfect tees”. Plus, I’m totally with DBH’s new direction as they started the year off with Duba’s “Coexistence”. What an awesome, typographical design!
